says package delivered - I was outside when it said the thing was delivered.  no- and it's not at my front door, or my side door, or my mailbox. 

 

I can't find a "where's my package" button.  any shortcuts without me having to spend way too much time looking?

Do you have a parcel box? My ontrac deliveries always gets dump outside my main door but the USPS ones sometimes goes to the parcel box if it can't fit into the mailbox. I sometimes did not notice a parcel box key in my deep mailbox.

Do a chat with Amazon. It may have been delivered elsewhere. I had a Kindle that they accidentally delivered somewhere else. I did the chat thing and they just sent me a new one right away.

Once upon a time, my Amazon showed delivered, but the postal gal didn't actually bring it to us until late the next day. I think she may have said she delivered when she didn't.

 

I hope it turns up soon.

Hmm. That's weird. I didn't wait at all. I actually ended up getting something else that I hadn't ordered that day, expecting my kindle. They evidently had put things in the wrong packages or something. Anyway, I immediately did the chat thing and had it resolved. Might depend on who you talk to??

Yes. If they used that stupid "smart post" thing, it may be at your post office.

the thing that ticks me off - it was *supposed* to be "same-day delivery".  ordered in the morning, get it by evening.  and I didn't.  I think I'll complain anyway. they pay these contract drivers (I've had some come in normal cars) and deliver packages. . . .

Yes. Always complain if something isn't right. Amazon has the best customer service ever, in my opinion!

I clicked on "call-me now". ... but but, I'd really like a nap before I have to go to the dr for a blood draw to check my thyroid #s . . . . I had shiatsu this morning, after not having been for six weeks .. .   I'll never do a 'regular' massage again!

A lot (the majority) of the things that are sent to our Receiver/Forwarder in Miami for us go via FedEx SmartPost, DHL GlobalMail, the UPS service, or directly via USPS.  Everything gets there.    :hurray:    The custom in the USA of leaving packages, without a signature, is convenient for the delivery carrier (and probably for most recipients) but can be dangerous.  I'm glad you got your package!

I love the Amazon chat feature.   Amazon also carries a big enough stick that the big delivery companies pay attention.  Similar thing happened to me, and I was getting NO WHERE with Fedex.   Then I chatted with Amazon.  THEN the Fedex supervisor looked into it and discovered that my package was put on the wrong truck and the delivery driver claimed to have delivered my package at the same time he delivered another package miles and miles away.

I'm isolated enough, leaving packages on my porch has only very rarely been an issue - and usually because they chose a side door. (one left it on top of my recycle bin.) that rarely gets used.  very few things actually need a signature.

there are people who contract for same-day deliveries in their personal cars.

my dd is on a busy street - but has only had something stolen off her porch once.  was worth <$10.  it was just annoying.  and we have amazon locker here to which things can be delivered for security.  (or she could have it delivered to my house.)

amazon is also really good about refunding $ when the package doesn't arrive and the seller keeps saying "it'll be there this week". . . . . I just made a claim on something I ordered beginning of June. the refund was prompt.
