LisaKinVA Posted July 24, 2016 Share Posted July 24, 2016 In VA (keep in mind there were 7 of us, 3200 SF house, plus a full heated/cooled basement, so roughly 5,000 sf heated/cooled) Electricity = $250 Propane = $25 (stove, water heater, fire places) Water = $0 (on a well, included with electricity) Internet = $100/month for about 5 mbps Phone = $15/month (needed it for our septic) Cell Phone = $150/month for 2 phones Trash = $50 month (pick up/recycling) In Italy: Electricity = $350/month average (higher in summer, because we have the pool pump, lower in winter, but we also have solar HW, and some offset with electricity -- electricity is very expensive here) Gas = $150/month average (higher in winter, very low in the summer) Water = incl. in rent Trash = incl. in rent Internet (incl. phone) $75/mo (was at 1.5 mbps...may be increasing any day to around 50 mbps) Cell Phone = $75 a month for 3 smart phones with 3 mbs data and 1 regular flip phone (yeah, it's dirt cheap!)
