I don't really schedule it. I try to do a lesson per day, but that doesn't always work, sometimes we need 2 days to do the longer lessons. I usually go over the concept and do the first problem in each section with them to make sure they understand. Then I assign half the problems in each section to work on on their own. Sometimes there are more than 1 teaching section in each lesson, and then I have them do half the problems up til the next teaching section and then go on using the same method from there. When we get to the chapter review, I have them do that and then do the chapter test the following day. We've never had any trouble getting through the book in a year.

Hope that helps!

Maria actually has a suggested way to schedule it on the website under her FAQ. It is an average of 2 pages a day to finish in a school year. This may be a full lesson or not, but it works well for us since I make sure they do the reviews and cumulative reviews and the tests before moving on.

It's mostly "do the next thing" for us, but I do pay attention to how much gets done to keep us on track.

I take the number of pages for a grade level and divide it by the number of weeks in our school year. I have my students work for a given length of time (depending on age/ability to focus). If that is consistently too short to achieve the right number of pages in a week, I add a few minutes to each day or asses if they are understanding the topic being worked on. Some weeks my kids do more pages, some weeks they do fewer. But, typically, they hit the number of pages per week that I'm aiming for.

Yes, this. Works for us.

We usually aim to do 2 pages per day. In some of the b chapters we might work out of 2 chapters at a time, one page from each. We also do x Tra math each day. It usually works out that doing 2 pages is a pretty equal amount of work. Rarely, 2 pages will end up flying by quickly (lots of graphics on the page) so we might do an extra page. On days that are longer, I either cut out the x-Tra math session or drop it to one page. So far it has worked out pretty well. I find it easy to implement.

7yo does 2 pages a day (1 in summer) because she's ahead in math (thanks to MM) and 11yo does a lesson per day (because she is seemingly "behind" in math because of the teacher-intensive nature of RS which we did previously ;)).

We switched to MiF during this last school year because the pages in MM were too crowded for dd and she couldn't stand any more, but we did about two pages a day, plus one page of basic fact practice I printed out from elsewhere.

It is frustrating for me to organize!  I  don't like doing 20+ addition or subtraction problems, or 2 pages of clock problems.  I find I prefer to do 2 or more chapters at the same time.  For example right now we are reviewing the additon/subtraction chapter, so I give them a page or so a day of that, one side to do by themselves.  We are learning the multiplication chapter, so we are doing a page or two of that per day, too.  A lot of times for time or money, I will keep one page per week in their math folders, and we just do a handful of problems each day- like 3 or 4.  I find it sticks better this way than if I do an entire chapter of one thing, and then 2 months later it pops up in the review and they can't remember it.
