OK, I didn't even know that there was a Mr. World.

...or that having a goatee/short beard was a prerequisite. (See the top 3 ;)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3702573/Mr-India-Rohit-Khandelwal-wins-Mr-World-2016.html

To make this educational....

1) Find India on a map.

2) Mr. World comes from Hyderabad.  Can you find Hyderabad?  What state is it in?

3) What languages are spoken in Hyderabad?  What religions does the population practice?

4) Would Mr. Khandelwal wear a kilt? Why or why not?

Happy Friday!

He reminds me of Freddie Mercury, who was also of Indian origin.

The runners-up aren't too bad either.

I feel a little guilty looking at guys who could almost be my grandkids ....

Mmm, I think he looks MUCH better shirtless. His face doesn't do much for me but that body does. Looking through the contestants, I like:

Mr. Argentina: http://www.mrworld.tv/competitor/ARGENTINA/1397.html#.V5JI4qKNaYE

Mr. Italy: http://www.mrworld.tv/competitor/ARGENTINA/1397.html#.V5JI4qKNaYE

Mr. Sweden: http://www.mrworld.tv/competitor/SWEDEN/1396.html#.V5JJhaKNaYE

Bonus points for you for extra research & dedication to pursuit of knowledge, CW!  :D

your Italy link is wrong fyi....

Mr Germany made me laugh because he included an adorable photo of himself as a little boy. http://www.mrworld.tv/competitor/GERMANY/1388.html#.V5JLTPkrKUk

If there are other contestants you like, you must map their home countries on a map and list three facts about their home countries.

For extra bonus points, sometime over the weekend either eat/cook food from the country of your favorite or watch a movie from that country.

You guys are such self-directed learners!

Much better looking than Mercury though, IMO.

It makes no difference that some of us have already graduated our homeschooled kids. One must never stop learning. Well Educated Mind and all that.

There's a picture on the main site of them all lined up holding hands like the women do in pageants.  That looks so awkward!

I liked 2014, the Denmark guy...

Also there are many Muslims in Hyderabad.  It may actually be the majority religion there, though I am not certain of that.

The "places to visit" list brings back so many great memories.  :)

Yes, it is a bit weird.

So is white suit guy the winner? A former winner? Or just somebody trying to make a fashion statement and stand out?

It says the top 10 are the finalists & there are 10 in that photo so I think he's one of the contestants.

I don't think they look weird. I think it looks nice for them to hold hands & support each other.

SkL when the topic of splitting the state was being discussed many newspapers reported that Muslims were 41% of the population in the twin cities.

I am sure you have a lot of stories, memories and pictures and you must have visited many other attractions as well.

It's called "I'm supposed to be writing a hugely boring paper and looking at hot guys is way more entertaining" :drool5:

Impressive.

Mr. Kenya is also worth studying. Hypothetically, there may be guys who don't look their best in either a snazzy three piece suit or a white tee, but that statement has never been proven to my satisfaction.

Ok, I have to admit that Mr. Scotland in his kilt was a bit disappointing. I had greater expectations.

I think we may all have greater expectations about a Scot in a kilt. (probably didn't help that I just finished this week catching up on Outlander  .)

Most are within my allowed age range though. I mean, hey, if I married a 28yo guy when I was 20yo, then I get to look at guys that are 8 years younger than me, right? And as we get older the allowed gap gets bigger too. So, 31-8=23, but maybe it'd be okay to stretch it to 31-9=22 or something. Some were even really close to my age (I'm also going to happily ignore I'm turning 32 later this month). The only one that *really* stood out as "no way, he's way too young" was the Bulgarian guy - he's 19 and definitely looks very young. I cannot believe Mr Switzerland is 17 though, he's total jail bait:

Gorgeous jailbait though - I feel guilty even looking!

Nobody bats an eye when a man marries a woman 20+ years younger.  So at least allow yourself the freedom to look.  Equal rights and all!  :)

Remember Cher and her Bagel Boy?

They are all much more than 8 years from my age.......much.  They could be my sons.

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are almost 20 years apart.

Dick Van Dyke is 90 and his wife is 44.  I just don't get it.  I can't imagine being married to someone as old, or older, than my father.
