blondeviolin Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 (edited) I have seen something like this at educents, I think. Basically, I'm looking for directions for kids to straighten a room. Mine know how to do it mostly so I'm only looking for a list as visual reminder. I'd rather not pay for it since I'm probably going to recopy the list onto nicer paper and frame it to hang in the room. Edited July 21, 2016 by blondeviolin Quote
amo_mea_filiis. Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 I make my own visual schedules with Microsoft word. Google a term (like "make bed") and hit images. Pick one out that you like, save, paste to your document. Since I only have Word to work with, I usually print, and then cut and paste onto my final document. Quote
umsami Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 So, years ago I bought one like the ones on Educents. The thing is, their directions on how to clean XYZ didn't really go with what I wanted my kids to do. I think it's easier to make your own. Pinterest is a big help. :) Quote

This is not what I wanted to hear. 😕 I CAN make it myself, but I don't want to. Lol Quote
Seeking Squirrels Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 We bought the one from educents a short time ago. At first we thought it was AMAZING. My DD8 who is very cleaning-phobic was excited to use it. It worked really well to get her room clean that first time when it was really out of control. But when she used it the rest of the week, I wanted to pull my hair out. It made a simple job into so many steps. My DD likes to follow things to a T a certain way, so trying to teach her she doesn't have to do each step didn't work. They have the kids pile everything into the middle of the room, then sort from there into 4 different bins, then take care of each bin. Works fine if the room is trashed, gives them direction. But when there's only 6 or 7 items on the floor, it makes no sense to put the stuffed animal in the middle of the room, then move it to a bin, then carry the bin to 5 inches from where the stuffed animal started to put it where it goes. I like the concept, but once they've forgotten about the flip chart (which sadly went missing....), I want to do my own with more reasonable steps. Even if it's an extra step of evaluating the level of mess before deciding which cleaning method would be best, a quick tidy or the all out sort. Quote
