SparklyUnicorn
Probably not a ton of people are because for one thing it seems most states don't have any sort of bottle deposit/return program at all. Basically this is some new bottle return service that they claim makes my life so much easier. Not easier enough for what it will cost me. Which I find pretty crappy. That one would have to pay money to get a deposit back!
Reefgazer
I just signed up for clynk here in upstate New York. It seems like it works well, but you have to collect a whole lot of cans for one of those bags, and you have to redeem the money card at Hannaford stores . SparklyUnicorn
Well I e-mailed them to ask if they sell larger quantities of bags for less. They do not. They think the convenience is so awesome that it's worth me spending 17.5 cents per bag for this. I don't agree with them considering there is a place up the street from me that will do the same thing, but does not require me to use special bags or any bags at all if I don't want to. SparklyUnicorn
I return a lot of cans and bottles so yes I do look for ways to make my life easier with this, but I don't want to spend money to get my deposits back.
SparklyUnicorn
Oh and you know what? "I" think the bags are way too small.
MEmama
We use it. It's easy and DH will take care of the bags, so that's good enough for me. :) I don't think we've remembered to actually redeem our cash yet in the 5 years we've been using it. Hopefully it's added up nicely. ;)
MEmama
I've been seeing more places advertising 6 cents per deposit (ours are 5 cents)-- I don't get how that works?

That's weird. Well I did sign up. They will give me 10 free bags. Don't know if I'll use it beyond the 10 free bags though.

I meant 6 cents per return, but you probably figured that out. *Ugh, sick, addled brain.*

Or at least that's how it used to work. Still, after 5 years, even if I only get store credit it ought be a decent amount of "free" groceries.
