DawnM Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 I had a coworker whose husband flew Flight 800 frequently. He happened to not be working that day. Thinking of those families who lost their teenagers heading for a trip of a lifetime that day. 1 Quote
umsami Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Such a tragedy. I was studying abroad and flew home right around the same time. I actually roomed with a flight attendant for Pan Am who lived in Paris, but commuted to London for work. She knew all of the crew aboard. Did you ever see the thing on PBS called "My Brother's Bomber"? They made a really neat interactive exhibit online too. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/article/inheritance/ 1 Quote

I thought that one was about Locherbie, Scotland. Both are so sad. It's hard to believe it's been 20 years. May their memories be eternal! Quote
Lady Florida. Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 I thought that one was about Locherbie, Scotland. That's what I thought this thread was about, then realized it wasn't. A friend and her husband were flying home from England the day of that one. We all knew they weren't flying Pan-Am, but in the back of everyone's mind was "What if we got the airline wrong and they are on that flight". They knew nothing about it until they landed in the U.S. Quote

There were so many conspiracy theories. Quote

It also crashed on July 17th - I remember because it was the week of our yearly vacation at the cabin, and I'd walk down to the corner store every day to get a paper to read up on the investigation. Ah, I thought it was today. Many think it was a surface to air missile launched accidentally. Quote
