3 ladybugs Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 How important is it to go in order? I got this for my son a couple of years or maybe it was orders, ago. We just go through the first book at the end of the year. I am starting to plan "next year" which will start in a couple of weeks. My son will be going into 3rd grade theoretically. Should I go with the 2nd book in the Early Elementary, or move on to the 3rd book? Or should I double up on art this year and try to get through both books? It is important for him to learn art techniques. He wants to do automotive design (at least right now that is what he says) so I want him to have a good foundation with art. If you happen to have book 2, can you tell me what you need for the first 8 lessons? Thank you! Quote
HomeAgain Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 I don't think it's important to go in order. The Early Elementary books are mostly for exposure. The second set covers technique more indepth. We jumped right in with the 4-5 year books without a problem. Quote
kalusignan Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 You don't have to go in order! You could skip book 2 and be fine. Book 2: Lesson 1 Watercolor paint set, watercolor paper, paintbrush Lesson 2 Same as above + yellow paper, scissors, glue Lesson 3 oil pastels scratch tool Lesson 4 spackling paste, hardboard panel or cardboard, watercolor set Lesson 5 watercolor set Lesson 6 watercolor set Lesson 7 watercolor set Lesson 8 watercolor set Quote
3 ladybugs Posted July 11, 2016 Author Posted July 11, 2016 Thank you! If I go directly to book 3 that makes things MUCH easier on me. :) Quote
