Online Wheelock Latin classes and homework load

I would like to use online Wheelock Latin for ds13 who has several years of Latin 1. He just finished Henle Latin 1 Units 1-5.

Now that I decide on Wheelock, we would like to know the homework load for each of the online classes, ie, VP, Lukeion, and so forth.

More specifically, how much time does Lukeion 1 homework take your dc? The website says 7-12 hours while VP Latin homework is 2-3 hours. I know it varies a lot by each student depending how much prior Latin he has and if he is a quick or slow language learner. I would like to hear how much your dc takes to finish homework.

I would like ds13 to take Lukeion but I am concerned with the workload. On the other hand, it is a great way to learn to manage expectations and time, right? :-)

My DD14 took Lukeion Latin 1 last year and loved it. She had not been exposed to Latin previously; however, she did take the Witty Wordsmith class with Lukeion the previous year so she was used to the "Lukeion way!" :) She actually cried when WW was over because she LOVED it so much. My DD spent an average of 7 hours on Latin each week (ranging from 5-9 hours depending on the material and such). She did everything that was required (created flashcards and did them daily, played the provided Latin games, the homework, studied for tests/quizzes, etc.) DD is very thorough and somewhat efficient so I think Lukeion's time estimate is accurate. She loved the structure of the class and the teachers and really LEARNED a lot. She also took the NLE and did very well on that exam, which I attribute to Lukeion AND all her own studying (She studied about 30 hours for the exam). DD is signed up for Latin 2 next year. I highly recommend the class and Lukeion but only if your DC can commit the time...hope that helps. Happy to answer any other questions.
