dh and I started watching white collar. it's a modern remake of it takes  a thief.  it's okay, I've seen series with consistently better  scripts.

the episode has a 'Thomas crown affair' type robbing banks.  as they're talking about making off with $8.2M but showing all the briefcases used - dh watches and says' "that's not $8.2M". (he even said the appox. amount it was actually shown -  before the character does.)  just before the character says something's wrong with that amount and use surveillance tape to find the missing briefcase.

he was also commenting how he has counted that much, in hand, and in the vault. . . . .(he would always wear jeans and t-shirts to count money.  he said the vaults are always very dirty/dusty.)

things about being married to a former banker.  and lots of dye pack stories. . . he almost felt sorry for the guy who put it in his back pocket.

I liked White Collar a lot.  Ds & I binge watched that last year. I was sad it ended.

does it get better?  it's good, it's just . . . sorta, kinda, weak.

I miss burn notice. (thought the last season. . . . . )

White Collar has a fair amount of "yeah, right, that couldn't happen," but I enjoyed it very much and found it quite entertaining.  Enough that I've been through it twice and will probably watch again at some point.  I would give it a few more episodes, at least.

I started one episode of Burn Notice, and it didn't grab me, but I have heard that I should give it a few more tries.  I'm most of the way through Life right now, which is not bad.  I don't find it as interesting as White Collar, but it's fairly entertaining.

I hear you on the DH commenting about what they did wrong.  Every time firearms or historic buildings are in shows, DH starts talking about how they did it wrong.

WC has been entertaining, so I will watch it.  dsil was with us one night, and kept commenting on how so many of the women look alike.

last night had me thinking of BNs ep "bad breaks". (robbery of a private bank)  it's one of dh's favorites.   and seeing some of the people who were also in BN.  it did take BN a few eps to get their feet.

tim Matheson (the Thomas  crown wannabe) plays a recurring role in BN where his nickname was crazy larry.  very similar characters.

then again, we have a good friend who is a retired FBI agent, so maybe that colors my suspension of disbelief . . . .

eta: I do really like the guy who plays mozzie.  I've seen him in other things.  he plays crazy?weird?whacky? oh, so well.

I think White Collar gets better as you go but not quite as good as Burn Notice. Mind you, I still haven't finished BN. I think we're in 5?

I'm also watching Suits. And Hawaii 5-0.

I keep wanting to go back to Leverage. I want to like it but it keeps losing me. I'm going to try again - mostly because Jenny Cruisie kept doing plot analyses of episodes in her writing mini boot camps & if Jenny finds it worthwhile, I figure it is.

just beware there's some stuff in season 7 that was frustrating for fans - but it ended well.

Agreeing with this. I felt the same way about Hawaii 5-0. I was trying to figure out what to call this type of show: unreality crime show? fantasy crime show? Whatever, they're still fun to watch.
