Help diagnose my daughter (digestive)

DD is 8. She is highly anxious and a very selective eater. It's hard to get enough calories into her

For the past few months she's occasionally complained about feeling like she has to throw up, or, saying that she threw up a little and swallowed it . She says she has bubbles in her belly that force their way out, but it doesn't feel like burping. I asked if it feels like it's burning and she said no. In the past week it's every day at bedtime. So, time to talk to a doc.

In the meantime - i don't know what it could be. I thought reflux but doesn't that burn?

Can't hurt to ask for a ultrasound to check on her gall bladder. My oldest girl had tummy aches off and on for years before doctor did a ultrasound and found her gall bladder was misshaped.  It was removed via laparoscopy (so a minor incision) and it was long, thin, and full of small stones.  Not working properly, and she has felt so much better ever since.  Just something to check on.

Could also be IBS.   What are her stools like?

ETA - I totally think probiotics, a litle flax, and maybe an elimination diet might be in order.  I would check with a doctor but it can take a LONG time to sort out digestion issues.  I do have to say my IBS was by far at it's worst when I was suffering with PPD and anxiety.   Daily vigorous exercise and practicing mindful breathing can be good things to try.

My poor son has had GI issues for years. When he was younger he would feel nauseous and throw up at bedtime. Turns out the pediatric GI said that our stomachs begin to produce acid at night.  GI scoped my son and found a very inflamed esophagus as well as several large stomach ulcers.

Acid production could be the issue your dd is dealing with. A short term round of a PPI might help.

I hope your little girl begins to feel better soon!

We have nerves here too.

Ulcer and hernia were our culprits.

I do however, still suspect a bad gallbladder in my child.  Test proved me wrong but mommy instinct says it needs to go!

Wanted to encourage you to go to a pediatric gastroenterologist though - asap.  There are all kinds of things it could be and it could take months to figure out because they do food trials and meds and those things take a bit of time to work through.  Helpful, just take some time to endure the testings.  Every appointment is an ordeal as well, takes weeks to get in around here.
