Faithr
The young woman and baby who have been staying with us just found out that a woman's advocacy group will take her case for free!!! This is what she has been praying fervently for. She's been trying to escape a terrible situation for years and in her struggle was rendered completely destitute and helpless. If it wasn't for a compassionate parish priest who took her under his wing to try to help her, we would never have met her and realized we were perfectly positioned to offer her a place to stay and raise her little son. We felt the Holy Spirit was calling us to help. We have been reaping so many profound spiritual benefits, all working underneath the surface of every day life. What a glorious gift and mystery! Anyway, this is the first step for her to try to get her act together. She keeps saying America is a beautiful country because lawyers will help you for free! And it is true. Just remember for all those awful grasping lawyers out there, there are many who give up time and money to advocate pro bona for the poor. Please pray that this will work out!

Guest
That's awesome and props to you for giving her a safe place and helping her navigate the craziness that is the US justice system! :)
mamiof5
The Lord will bless you for helping them! And yay for finding an attorney who's willing to handle her case probono. I worked for an attorney many years ago, and she had many probono cases. By the time she put her work, office supplies etc it ended being an expense for her. There's so much work/resources that go into this cases! Many prayers and the best of luck in the process
