Looking for comprehension workbooks comprised of articles that present the facts and...

...you have to come up with conclusions (by answering multiple choice questions) based on those facts.  So, the specific answers are not in the articles;  you would have to gather the facts in the article and choose the most logical conclusions.  Workbooks around 5th-8th grade level, related to science, history, health, news, etc. (instead of just stories).

So you mean practicing making inferences?

 

I think CTC has some books, called something along the lines of Inference Jones or something like that. Not sure what age range they're for.

The Comprehending Texts series does this. It starts with an article, then presents the questions in four sections. The first is Literal (finding facts), next is Inferential, then Applied, and finally Synthesizing. Books are ~$15.
