Miss Peregrine Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 We noticed yesterday that he was hanging his mouth open and drooling a lot. Not eating/drinking very much. Very lethargic. When he does eat it looks like he's having a very hard time chewing. I can't get into the vet until July 11th?! I am taking him to an emergency vet tonight when someone gets home. We have three cars and of course, they are all in use. :/ 1 Quote
Lawana Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 ((Hugs)) I hope it is something that can be treated. Quote
Miss Peregrine Posted June 28, 2016 Author Posted June 28, 2016 Any news? I am still stuck at home. I won't have a car until about 10:00. Almost 3 more hours. :/ Quote
Guest Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Sounds like possibly an abcess in a tooth. Hope you can get him seen soon. :( Quote
MercyA Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Please update when you are able. Praying for kitty. Quote
Miss Peregrine Posted June 28, 2016 Author Posted June 28, 2016 Uber? I hope kitty is okay. No Uber here. Quote
Mom-ninja. Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 That's a really long time to get a sick pet in to see a vet. Maybe it's time to find a different doctor. Hope it's nothing serious 1 Quote

muttmomma Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Is he drinking? Try giving him little squirts of water. Poor kitty. Quote
Miss Peregrine Posted June 28, 2016 Author Posted June 28, 2016 We're on a room. Waiting on the doc. 1 Quote
MistyMountain Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 (edited) Drooling and lack of appetite are not good signs. It was fatty liver disease for my cat with those symptoms. I hope it is something treatable with your cat. That is frustrating you could not get in with a sick cat to your vet. Edited June 28, 2016 by MistyMountain Quote
Miss Peregrine Posted June 28, 2016 Author Posted June 28, 2016 He has an ulcer in his mouth and needs a dental consult. He had a high fever so we got abx and pain meds. One of his teeth looks really bad. 1 Quote
catz Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Aww. I hope kitty turns around quickly. We just got back from vacation and one of our cays seems skinny and off. Going to the vet today. :( At least I was able to get in within 24 hours. Quote
MercyA Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Thanks for the update. I'm so glad you took him in. Hope he feels better soon. Quote

Poor kitty! I hope they can get his tooth out quickly. My avatar guy had that happen, and it popped up practically overnight. He was perfectly fine after his extraction. :) Quote
