Can you recommend a hotel between Carlsbad Caverns NM and Cloudcroft?

We will be traveling soon and I need a hotel in the Cloudcroft NM area for one night.  Does anyone happen to have a recommendation?   Many/most lodging choices require a two night stay or do not fit a family of 6.  Thanks!

Comfort Inn, comfort suites, Rodeway, Econolodge, and any other members of that chain. Those I mention have locations in Carlsbad and dayton. 

You can definitely get a room for one night. They never asked how many children we have (five). Many allow pets ( if that's your thing), and many serve complementary breakfast. 

They range from clean, but unimpressive to really very nice. All are surprisingly affordable.

Thanks. I had not looked in Dayton yet.  I had hoped to stay in the mountains, but I think we'll just have to drive the next day.

We've been to Cloudcroft a few times but that is the only place we've stayed.

I think we stayed in the Holiday Inn Express in Carlsbad because there weren't many places that seemed decent between there and Cloudcroft.

There is a whole lot of nuthin' between Carlsbad and Cloudcroft.  There are several hotels in Alamogordo, though, which isn't too far from Cloudcroft (about a half hour).

The Carlsbad KOA has cabins, if that's something you might be interested in. My family really enjoyed staying there a few years ago!
