sbgrace Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 My sister, who is a special ed teacher, contacted me today. She has been asked to work with kids K-2 in a public school autism class. Her role is to prepare them to move to move from self contained to a resource environment and from that to a collaborative classroom environment. She hasn't worked in this way before, and contacted me to ask for materials in that age range to help kids kids prepare for change. My mind is blank. It's been a long time since my guy was that young, and this wasn't an area we worked on anyway. Do you have any thoughts or resources I could share with her? Quote
Lecka Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 (edited) http://www.autismclassroomresources.com/who-am-i/ I really like this woman Christine Reeve. I am "liked" to her Facebook page and signed up for her e-mails. I like her website, it has a lot of good information. Some of it may be a lower level than what she needs. (Her webpage has "posts by topic" way up at the top, that is the section I have gone through the most.) Edited June 21, 2016 by Lecka Quote
Lecka Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 http://www.autisminternetmodules.org/ This requires making a log-in, but I like it, too. Lots of overviews of different strategies. Quote
