Dina in Oklahoma Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Hello Hive ~ We are not world travelers and are about to send DD to Spain for a month. Could anyone recommend a good Universal European converter/adapter? Any travel tips would be appreciated also! Many Thanks, Dina Quote
rdj2027 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Different European countries have different plugs. IIRC, she will need an AC-20 adapter. 1 Quote
Tree Frog Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 We bought my dd one for Christmas from REI for about $25 that had several different plugs. I couldn't tell you the brand name, but she hasn't had any problems with it. One of the benefits she mentioned is that she can use the usb to charge her Ipad. Hope your dd has a great time in Spain! 1 Quote
Arcadia Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 We use a universal travel adaptor that has USB ports. Something like the one in the link. We find it convenient to charge our phones through the USB ports leaving the plug portion for our laptop. https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Travel-Adapter-plugs-Charger/dp/B00RIDPQ9W 1 Quote
MotherGoose Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 You may not need a converter. Check your appliances and see. Phone chargers don't usually need them, most places have blow dryers, and it may be better to just buy an European flat iron/curling iron because in my experience the converter may not work correctly with curling iron/flat iron. We got a cheap $10 one from Amazon that got good reviews for the the adapter. Quote
