SparklyUnicorn
For quizzes or tests? Anything at all?
EKS
Since it is meant to go with a course that is always teacher supported and completely online, I would be very surprised if there were any materials like that floating around out there.
Corraleno
Edited, because I thought you were talking about K12's Human Odyssey. I thought I hadn't heard of Our Human Story, but when I just looked on Amazon... apparently I bought a copy 4 years ago. I don't remember that at all, and I have no idea where it is or what happened to it. Edited June 20, 2016 by Corraleno
ondreeuh
We are planning on using Our Human Story (the high school world history text) the year after next. Each section has a couple of questions, and I plan to have my son write out his answers to those. It looks like each could be answered in 2-3 paragraphs, so I guess they would be considered short essay questions? You could pull from those to make your own tests, but you'll have to grade it on your own. I'm going to let DH handle the history discussion because I am kind of hopeless at putting all the pieces together and he excels at it. OR, you could sign up for the class via K12 and see if the resources include any kind of TM. Or I guess you could call and ask first.

The courses are way too expensive.
Corraleno
Yeah I guess I could just use those questions. The courses are way too expensive. And if the Human Story course is anything like the other K12 courses where I've seen the student/teacher materials, most of what you're paying for, beyond the text, is just an insane amount of busywork: tons of worksheets, comprehension questions, vocabulary exercises, writing assignments, etc. It's like PS on steroids. But the texts themselves are great because the writing is really good and they have a nice, readable lay out. We use a lot of Teaching Co / Great Courses, so I just pick a few of the discussion questions in the course guide (or let DS pick some) to write essays on, but you can also just google around for writing prompts and discussion questions. For exams, I either make one up from discussion questions or I find an exam online. I actually used a past Regents Exam for an American History final, because DS wasn't all that into it and I just wanted something quick and easy that would satisfy the NCAA overlords (he also did 6 short essays for that course). Corraleno has a good point - you can add materials that themselves have some type of assessment. I kinda looked at the Oak Meadow syllabus for that, although the text is uses goes at a different pace. Maybe there are resources you could use from the Big History Project? (FWIW, I have aligned a few Great Courses to Our Human Story - A Culinary Cultural History of the World & Foundations of Western Civ - I can share the google doc if you want).
