LisaKinVA Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 The past two days I've been in two storage areas for two groups I volunteer for taking inventory of what is there. Storage Area #1 -- no food is in there *except* pre-packaged sugar/salt/sweeteners for coffee/tea (no coffee or tea) . Storage Area #2 -- I knew there was food, in there. I was planning to raid the pantry for condiments to use in my prep tomorrow. Imagine my horror to discover that most of them were open and partially used! There is even an open milk! :scared: While it's not technically necessary to refrigerate ketchup & mustard, it does degrade over time (texture, flavor, color). Generally, it's recommended to use up within a month if un-refrigerated. This has been in a non-climate controlled room (on the warm side, now) for I don't know how long (but at least 3-4 months -- or more). Yuck. Yuck. Double Yuck. Quote
