Faithr Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Ugh. Not such a good morning so far. 21 yo was back ended on the way to work. He's ok but it was more than a fender bender and he's dealing with all that. I am worried about whiplash, etc. Then 14 yo has a case of the weepies this a.m. Everything made her cry. Holy cow. The weather is beautiful and the accident could have much worse, so there's that! 6 Quote
Pink and Green Mom Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 So sorry, Fathr! Do make sure your son sees a doctor within the next few days just to be on the safe side (some states require a doctor visit within 2 weeks in order to file a claim for injuries later on). :grouphug: 5 Quote

BlsdMama Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 So glad your son is okay!! DD had a bad accident (that she was okay other than in pain/mild concussion) a few months ago. Really shook me a bit. Hope you're doing okay too. So.... Got sidetracked. Decided to put pet screen on backdoor. MUCH harder than I thought -apparently it's thicker screen and you're supposed to use smaller spline, which I didn't have. But it's done! Overcome! Then when I looked out said backdoor I noticed I never finished the flower bed and plant hostas. So we did that. But then it looked so nice.... And there were so many weeds on the other side. Did that. But then there was a patch of mowing that didn't get finished this weekend. I feel like the mouse and the cookie. But it's pretty warm here so I'm drenched. I'm going to go take a very cool shower, tuck little ones in for naptime, and call it a day! The boys have Trail Life tonight so pasta and a salad and the night off. House looks like a tornado hit it and DH has been warned. :D 5 Quote
SKL Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Super crazy busy day today. Fielded hundreds of emails, prepared and reviewed a bunch of documents, sent many emails, had several conference calls. And lent an ear to my sister re marriage problems (which, I've never been married, so.... :P). Kids are at zoo camp, but I need to go get them pretty soon and take them to tennis lessons. I have at least one work thing I'm supposed to do before I go. But I need a mental break first. After tennis and dinner, I'll make my kids do some work. No more slacking off! And then I have a lot of work to do tonight. But I am tired too. I don't love this time of year. Need to call my friend for her birthday. She is in rehab / hospital so I hope I'm able to get through to her. 4 Quote

Susan in TN Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Quick trip to Ft Myers today with the top down :auto: ...it was a beautiful sunny, low traffic day! :) Oooo - Ft Myers, FL? I was there with dh many years ago. We had dinner and collected shells on Sanibel Island, too. Quote
SKL Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 The evening wasn't as crazy as the work day, but it was weird nonetheless. First I forgot that the zoo camp has a different pickup location on Mondays, so I ended up being 15 minutes late for 6pm pickup. Their tennis lesson started at 6pm, so they were late for that, but I decided to show up for the last 20 minutes anyway. I took a brisk walk while they practiced. Then we swung by their friend's house to pick up Yaya, the lost doll who has been found (yay!). On the way there, the kids kept saying they were starving, so I texted "kids are hungry" to an auntie to see if she wanted to do something for dinner. Well, come to find out later that I had actually texted the mom who had found the doll, and that was a bit awkward as she wondered what she was supposed to do or say about my kids being hungry. :P I straightened that out and we went for Mr. Chicken drive-thru. Then made a quick stop at the grocery store. My kids wanted to do the self-checkout, so I let them, and my kid borrowed my keys in order to scan the discount card (key fob). We drove home and carried our many bags up to the porch, only to realize my kid left my keys at the grocery store. So we packed everything back into the car and went back to retrieve the keys. When we finally got a chance to eat our chicken, it was cold. :/ I had to respond to a work email while my kids did some work, and then I did some math and a read-aloud with them and tucked them into bed. Now I am tired. I have work to do, but I'm going to try to get some sleep and then get up in the wee hours. I need to get my kids' camp shirts ready (they are in a heap of clean but crumpled clothes) and the pen pal letter that's been waiting for about a month to be mailed. Hopefully I get that done in the early hours so I can get those off my to-do list. 2 Quote
