Can I hear some reviews for Sonlight Core G and H?  Are these interesting cores?

My dd loved these Cores. We ended up not really following the IG's for much besides correlating Kingfisher to the readers and SOTW, but I will say she liked at least 75% of the books, which is actually pretty good considering how many books there are in these cores. Using SOTW and Kingfisher provided her with a really good background on world history over the two years. She came out of a public school social studies background and had no love for the subject previously. I give these two cores and SOTW full credit for turning her into a history lover.

We've got 16 weeks left in H, but we've deeply enjoyed both of these core. My son is on the older age range if that makes any difference.

G drags a little bit in places, especially at the beginning. We changed it up a tiny bit because there's a lot of focus on some areas & none on others. We also swapped a couple of books around, but over all we didn't change it a ton. There's a lot of chatter about changing it & I did intend to do more, but the bottom line was that doing too much makes it unenjoyable.

My boy uses audio books due to his VPD, & I ended up getting a LOT of the read alouds in that fashion too because some of those Greek & Roman names are HARD to say & it was nicer to sit back & enjoy the story vs stressing each time a character's name came up, kwim? This worked beautifully for us.

Many people who didn't/don't enjoy it aren't big fans of the SOTW & KF combo for 2 straight years. We've loved it. In fact, as I was rounding up books we've finished with & discussing which ones ot keep vs part with I asked my son about SOTW. He looked up & said, "You can't get rid of those! I still NEED those."

I've done Core H with my oldest, and we absolutely LOVED it! ;) Such really good books, and my ds found he really enjoyed using SOTW, as well. My best tip though, is to make it fit you. If the schedule is too much, trim a few books. If you need more, several of the books have sequels that are equally as wonderful. :)
