dudeling has had three fabulous teachers this year. I am so grateful to them and how much they have helped him (and allowed me to focus on other areas of his needs), I want to give them thank-you gifts, but I need ideas.

suggestions please?  I'm comfortable with $20ish each . . .

I once asked my teacher friend to be honest with me and tell me what her favorite gifts have been. She told me that gift cards are always the most appreciated and useful, along with a handwritten card. I prefer finding gifts more personal and unique than a gift card, but only if I am not sure they will use it/like it. So I usually end up doing gift cards. ;-)

I appreciate the idea of gift cards.  amazon?

I'd also thought about gift cards for a box of see's chocolates.  (dh has given them to clients who give referrals.)

Gift cards were my favorite as a teacher. But I also enjoyed things that were useful either to me or in my classroom. I did have one parent give me a decorative flag for our yard (a pretty one with our last initial). I didn't generally care for decorative things but it was really nice.

for those sayiing gift cards - I can do amazon, or had been thinking see's (it's a card for a 1lb box of see's. they can choose what's in the box, when it's convienent for them.)

When I taught I especially appreciated gift cards to book stores with cafes. I could buy books, gifts, games or treats.

If you have a local bookstore, this would be my suggestion.  (With Amazon, one may end up having to pay additional shipping; a See's card could be problematic for someone who has diabetes or is trying to lose weight.)

Kareni

When my kids were in public school the teachers loved Starbucks and Chipotle. Both places were close to the school and the teachers were very pleased that they could run and buy lunch or coffee when they needed it!

thank you for the suggestions.

I ended up ordering some amazon cards.  we will send them with a bunch of cupcakes (dudeling's suggestion).

amazon  is local to us - very local.  they have such a better selection (and prices) than the local bookstores.
