aharrington Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 I had intended to use Mapping the World as a geography course for next year; but as I am looking at things, I have over planned and am looking at ways to scale back. Now, I am thinking about using MtWwA as a supplement and breaking it down across the history cycle. It looks like we would do four chapters next year for ancients. Has anyone successfully broken the program apart like this? For those who have completed the course, do you feel anything would be lost by doing it this way? Quote
fourisenough Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 We did it straight through this year, and because my DD11 worked so independently, I can't really say for sure. I think some of the maps build upon themselves, but that may be within each chapter, rather than between chapters. My DD loved doing it this year and I would say it only took about 15 minutes to read the 2-page spread for each lesson and then maybe another 15-20 minutes to draw the map(s). It was pretty painless and very rewarding. Not sure if that impacts your decision to cut it for next year, but I thought I'd share our experience with it. Quote
