Slache Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I threw my scale out in the past when I started weight training and therefore gaining weight because I found it depressing. If I could actually measure my body mass index I think I would enjoy it. I'm a jawbone user but considering a switch. Quote
Laurie4b Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 It's my understanding that short of a CT scan, there is not a reliable way to measure body fat percentage. A caliper is reasonably accurate though and cheap. If the same person uses it, it will show pretty reliable increase/decrease. 1 Quote

A lot of people in the reviews have compared the scale with a caliper and have come up with the same results which is cool, but a caliper is $100 cheaper than the scale. One can also be stored in a closet without having to be calibrated every time I get it out. Can I measure myself or will I need my husband to? Does anyone know if I can log my body fat percentage into the Fitbit app without the scale? Quote
Laurie4b Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Can't help you there. I ordered one, then never used it. Oops. :tongue_smilie: 1 Quote

I think I'll just get the pinchy thing. I'm afraid I won't like the scale and $100 is a lot of money for something you might not like. 1 Quote
Sarah CB Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I love the scale. I don't pay that much attention to the body fat portion, but I love that it syncs with my apps. 1 Quote

How annoying is it to calibrate? I would like to keep it in the closet and pull it out once every few weeks, but I don't know if that's a viable option. Quote
