athomeontheprairie Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 (edited) And dd10 has raided the bookcase and is working through aops pre-A. And judging by the work in her notebook, this isn't her first night with the smuggled math book in bed. ETA. this is next year's math book. She pulled it off the shelf filled with next year's books. Usually, if I'm not watching she reads most of history/lit books over the summer. Edited May 30, 2016 by athomeontheprairie 17 Quote
AmandaVT Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 That's awesome - I frequently find DS surrounded by his beast academy books in bed. :-) 2 Quote
sarahbobeara Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Note to self: start storing algebra books and extra batteries/flashlights in kids' bedrooms. That is truly adorable. :hurray: 3 Quote
HomeAgain Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Ah, how familiar! Mine stole the Versatiles I put aside for next year. He happily holed himself up yesterday doing spelling exercises while I searched my room for the sets I *knew* I had bought and just couldn't find! 1 Quote
momacacia Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 I find 7yo with the BA "cartoon book," but I think we'll just supplement BA for her when she's ready. MM is just too efficient for us now. But, color me green with a 10yo sneaking math books off. ;) 1 Quote
aprilleigh Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 That sounds like something I would have done at that age. I did, actually, just never thought to do it with math books since I never got those until school started. 2 Quote
Grover Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 hahah my 9 and 7 year olds think they have got one over on me when they "sneak" the next maths books of the shelf. i don't for a moment think the 7 year old is getting much by way of understanding out of beginning algebra, but she thinks it's fun to read it when she's not meant to. 2 Quote
