Birds are plucking at my window screen

Every spring and summer the sparrows are plucking at my window screen. I have a huge rectangular hole in it. They are funny to watch tough with their bill full of bits of wire but bothers me because of the damage. I do hate to have insects entering my room when I open my window. Right now a 1 inch bee is buzzing inside.

We had a crazy robin attacking our windows for a few weeks this spring. I went to Agway and bought these stick on "spiderwebs" that scared it away.

We've used a stuffed cat on the windowsill to keep birds away.

I was going to suggest a cat!  But our (overweight) cat pushes out the window screens to get to the birds.  People wonder why we have baby gates in our windows.   They're cheaper than continually re-screening...

I have put a plush cat on the windowsill. I hope it will work.
