three4me
I'm 32, have three youngish kids, wear size 12-14, belly seems to be getting pudgier. I've been living in skinny jeans and men's long sleeve t shirts (bought the shirts to sleep in but have been wearing them during the day too). Time to branch out a bit. Besides just getting some men's/unisex short sleeve t shirts, what should I be looking for? I'm pretty self conscious about my belly right now. I've seen the hive offer great clothing advice in the past. Can anyone help me out? ETA: I'm mostly just looking for casual summer things, though a couple nicer things would be great. I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe, or even a mom uniform. 😳 Edited May 24, 2016 by three4me
desertflower
Well, you just described me. Except I'm a bit older and a bit larger. LOL I'm not fashionable because I'm on a budget, but here's what I just did. I got my tops from Walmart. They are just plain solid color shirts from White stag or hanes. I also got some comfy shorts from there. I'm on a mission on losing weight. I took the kids to a mountain today and went hiking. I let the kids run down as far as they wanted to, this way we have to climb back up to reach the car. ;) I plan on going hiking again on Thursday. :) I'm hope you get some good pointers. :)

What shorts did you get at Walmart??
desertflower
White stag. I wanted another type (I don't know what brand, cargo ones though), but the store didn't have my size. LOL It was the third store that I went looking for shorts, so I gave up and just bought whatever was comfy. So far it works, but I bet eventually I will have to hold my shorts while I run after the kids. There are no belt loops either. Ah well. momacacia
I've had pretty good luck at Eddie Bauer, especially if you find a nice sale...which that have quite a few of, even at beginning of seasons. Long sleeve and short sleeve knit shirts with choices of necklines, shirts in varying lengths and fits, as well as beans that way. Jackets, pull over tops, etc. Its almost a one stop shop if you wanted it to be. Even skorts and skirts. (I should be getting $$ for this :))

BusyMom5
Dress Barn- they are pricey but I can find cute tops that will camoflauge my belly ;)
three4me
I went to Old Navy last night and found several tops that looked nice, and also grabbed four new men's t shirts. I think I'm good to go, for a while at least!! Thanks for the tips. The one about body shape was particularly helpful.
