Joyofsixreboot
I am thrilled today is the last day of school and yet....my baby is done with 2nd grade. I won't ever use all those books again, the 12 yo is making noises about trying PS next year, the freshman will learn to drive this summer and next year 17 yo will be a senior. This life stages stuff is hard. Bittersweet. Next week we'll be immersed in summer crazy ( which is better than school year crazy) but this morning I'm going to wallow in coffee and chocolate to cover the pain 😄😋
Guest
Oh, I totally agree! I am in a holding pattern on divesting some of my things: the Handwriting Without Tears wooden letters, my Pathway Readers "Days Go By," my counting bears. My youngest is finishing fifth grade and it is sad to see that stage of life disappear - even as it is also nice as the older ones get jobs and driver's licenses.
Ottakee
My husband is having a terrible time now that our girls finished highschool yesterday. He is lamenting our empty nest....despite that fact that older D's is still here and likely always will be, the girls are both staying here and will be doing a special ed post highschool program, and we have 12 year old foster boy......i don't consider 4 kids at home an empty nest

Eliz
My oldest is graduating this year! It's so strange not to be planning classes for the next school year for her. I'm thrilled, excited and sad, all mixed together. Three more years and I'll hit an even worse situation when my younger daughter graduates. It's hard.
bodiesmom
I was just talking about this with my kiddos in that this year is a big year for each of the three of them. Youngest turned 10 (double digits!), middle is turning 13 soon ( and starting to really flesh out all what that means attitude wise), and oldest is heading to highschool. I'm excited for them all but.....ouch. These years really do fly by.
