OnMyOwn
I see Alcumus doesn't go beyond the AOPS algebra 1 and geometry course. Does AOPS algebra 1 include much of what is normally covered in algebra 2? I'm trying to figure out if it would be worthwhile for my dd to work on over the summer? She is just completing Saxon algebra 2.
Jen in NY
Alcumus algebra covers all the topics in the AoPS Intro to Algebra book. When my kids were taking it, it was the first two classes in their algebra series; now called Algebra A and Algebra B. You can see a list of the topics covered in those two courses here: https://www.artofproblemsolving.com/school/catalog HTH Edited May 19, 2016 by Jen in NY
Mike in SA
Saxon will be ahead in some areas and behind in others. I suspect it will be beneficial but not sufficient. You would need to provide some supplemental review.
