Night Elf
Yesterday was my youngest dd's last day of high school. She has exempted her final exams so doesn't have to go the rest of the week. Official graduation is June 1st. I felt strange when she turned 18, realizing all of my children are now young adults, but this is affecting me more than I expected. Where has the time gone? I have until August to spend time with her before she goes away to college. She'll only be 90 minutes away but she doesn't expect to come home too often. I hope she changes her mind once she's there. I had to take the alarms off my phone to wake up in the mornings to take her to school, and another telling me when it was time to leave to go pick her up. I think I might cry. What on earth am I going to do when we have to leave her at the dorm in August? I'll fall apart! I'll get hives again. Would you believe I got hives when she started public high school? My anxiety was through the roof! I really hope that doesn't happen again.
Ann.without.an.e
DD will be a senior next year and I'm already feeling sad. Hang in there mama, hopefully we'll find a new "normal". Maybe someone with more experience can assure us.

Chris in VA
It is a big transition. Hold her lightly. Be good to yourself, and cry if you need to!
