mom31257 Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Ds will be starting a couple of high school credits in 8th grade. Is there a comprehensive book out there in which you keep all of the high school grades, records, etc.? I used single subject grade sheets with dd, so I can do that again. I was just curious what others use. Quote
EKS Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I make (made) a grade sheet for each course in Excel. Each year is together in the same Excel document with each course as its own tab. Quote
Sebastian (a lady) Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I just make a table for subjects I am tracking in Word. I file copies of test scores and grade reports and major essays in a three ring binder. Quote
regentrude Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I find it easiest to give few grades. Homework is completed and corrected, no grade. Lab is completed to my satisfaction. One comprehensive final in math; three science tests per semester; larger writing assignments in lit+history. Don't need a grade book for those. Grades go on the transcript and are recorded in the long form course descriptions (which I'll condense to paragraphs for the application) 1 Quote

AmyontheFarm Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 I was able to get an outdated version of the Well Planned Day High School 4 year planner at one point for under a buck. Honestly, I'm glad I did. As I started looking through it I quickly realized it would never work for me. I kept it just to show other parents in our local homeschool group. One lady simply LOVED it and immediately went and ordered the current year for her child. Everyone is different. Over at www.cbd.com you can check out excerpts of the current book to see what it looks like. http://www.christianbook.com/well-planned-high-school-year-planner/rebecca-keliher/9781942192060/pd/192060?event=ESRCN 1 Quote
EppieJ Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 (edited) Here's another one you may be interested in checking out. You can track courses, resources, assignments, grades, create transcripts....and it's free! http://www.homeschoolskedtrack.com/HomeSchool/displayLogin.do Edited May 17, 2016 by EppieJ Quote
need2read Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 How long have you used it? How is it holding up? My son is just finishing up 9th grade so we've only had it for one school year. However, I have used their single year Well Planned Day planners and they are very durable. My planners don't really leave my office though so I can't comment about heavy use. You can look at them at hedua.com. Quote
