Wilderness Road State Park or Cumberland Gap National Historic Park

Hello!

 

Has anyone been to this? 

 

I'm really interested in the Wilderness Road Trail.  It says on the website that it bisects the Park, and we can park there to access it.  I'm wondering if this is the only way?

 

Also, any good hotels that allow dogs around that area? 

 

Anything in specific that is a must see? 

 

We are only going to be there for one day, but would love to get that pioneer feel.

ETA:  Hmmm Cumberland Gap National Historic Park may be what I'm looking for.  Anyone been to that?  I'm looking to do a short walk like the pioneers did.
