PollyOR Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 The Teaching Company has a course - Mastering the Fundamentals of Mathematics. Too bad it isn't on sale right now. Maybe you could borrow it from a library or a friend. For just basic review this summer, we are going to use Math Minutes. 1 Quote
Mrs Twain Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 (edited) Horizons 6 is a great review before algebra. It has helped my kids solidify their basic arithmetic skills tremendously. Edited May 13, 2016 by Mrs Twain 1 Quote

OneStepAtATime Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 You might look at coupling the Key to series with Prodigy math. https://www.rainbowresource.com/product/Key+to+Fractions+complete+set+workbooks+%2B+key/FRACMP Do book one of Key to Fractions/Key to Decimals/Key to Percents, then do book two of all three and just keep moving forward. Mix in Prodigy math lessons each day for math fact review. https://www.prodigygame.com/ Start Algebra I when he has finished at least through book three of Key to... 1 Quote
2ndGenHomeschooler Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 My DD12 has the same issues with math facts, fractions, decimals, and percents. I'm going to have her work through the LOF Fractions, and Decimals and Percents books this summer. Also, I have some reproducible math facts drill books. I'm thinking of paying her 50 cents per 5 minute speed drill she can pass. My mom did that with us when we were kids and it was a great motivator to get them memorized. :-) I'm hoping this approach will get us the review and progress we need without feeling too much like school. 1 Quote
HSmomof2 Posted May 14, 2016 Author Posted May 14, 2016 Thanks! After looking through everyone's suggestions, we're going to try the Mastering Math Essentials book combined with Prodigy. 1 Quote
