Does anyone have a reliable resource or link for a good Linux tutorial?  Just to learn some basics and become familiar with it for someone who hasn't had any experience with it.

Probably there are some general help files specific to the distribution that they are using.  If it is Ubuntu (and it probably is), then they can use this:
