OnMyOwn
My son applied for a junior volunteer position at the hospital. He will go for an interview next week. We didn't realize how competitive a volunteer position could be, but out of over 100 applicants, only 6 were invited to continue on to interview. He would really like a position because he is interested in the health care field. I am thinking he should wear dress pants, a jacket and a tie. In the past, I would have thought that overkill for such a job, but now I'm not so sure. What do you think?
Carol in Cal.
I think that is a good idea. Overdressing for an interview implies that he's taking it seriously.
Amateur Actress
Definitely dress up for the interview! I tell my kids you should dress up for any interview, to show you are mature and realize the importance of the whole process.

Eliz
Definitely he should dress up. It will impress the interviewer with his maturity and seriousness. So many kids and adults for that matter don't take interviews seriously or realize the importance of the "first impression." Praying that your son gets the position.
