I hesitate to post on the HS board, but I figured I would probably get a better response here than over in K-8. When I was going through the TOG website for my order, I noticed Poetics. We definitely aren't there yet, but now that I've seen it, I'm dying to hold it in my hands!!!! I got some info from FB and also from calling TOG directly, but it doesn't sound like what I thought it was. I originally thought it was like a WEM or Invitation to the Classics. The gal I spoke with at TOG said it isn't directly based on actual books (titles), but literature as a whole. So, I'm wondering if there is anything out there it could be compared to that I may have heard of to help me understand exactly what it is. If it is a book about analyzing and dissecting literature with a Christian worldview, I would love to add to my resource shelf, since that is a very weak area for me. The gal at TOG also said it's not really very clear to navigate if you aren't following a TOG year plan with exact pages to read. I really wish I could get a better understanding of it from the sample. :(

Can anyone compare it to anything else?

LOL, I knew that was what people would think if I posted here! Yes, for ME. I actually have TtC, which I love, although I wish it had literature terms laid out a little better. (I'm not home and haven't looked at it in a few months...) I think there is a small list in the back, but I was hoping Poetics was more exhaustive. I do not have the TtC worldview supplement, though. I also have How to Read a Book, which maybe I should read through again.
