DawnM Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Can I return gift cards to Costco? I bought a bunch of Nutrisystem gift cards on sale and ordered one month of the stuff and really don't like it. I have a bunch more gift cards sitting here as I had planned to do it for 3 months total. Can I return them or am I going to have to try to sell them online? Thanks, Dawn Quote
marbel Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Were they in a pack that you opened, or was each individual card sold separately? If they were in a pack which is now opened (with one card removed) then they can't just resell that, so probably would not take it back. But I would call and ask, or take the unwanted cards to the store and ask. Quote

They were on a huge discount so I thought I would get them while they were 40% off. Quote
sassenach Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 I would think not, but I guess it doesn't hurt to try. Quote
DawnM Posted May 7, 2016 Author Posted May 7, 2016 Ok, guess I should have started with this. Just looked at the website, and it does list that you can return them. It is a generic return policy, but it is listed with this product. 1 Quote
goldberry Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 I'm really surprised. I didn't know places let you return gift cards. Quote
DawnM Posted May 7, 2016 Author Posted May 7, 2016 I'm really surprised. I didn't know places let you return gift cards. Well, I don't know for sure yet, but maybe since it isn't a gift card to THEIR store???? Quote
TechWife Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 I think you can. I understand their return policy to be very generous. Quote
Acadie Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Dh just returned an OPEN package of electric toothbrush heads (none were used!) because he bought the wrong kind. Extremely generous return policy! Definitely worth a try. Amy Quote
Tap Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 I'm really surprised. I didn't know places let you return gift cards. Most places don't. Costco is unique in their return policy and will only do it since the person returning it is the original purchaser.. If you got a gift card for a store/restaurant as a gift, you usually can't return it. There are a few gift cards that can be used to buy other gift cards, from the selection inside the same store though. They are usually called something like "gift card mall, gift card". I know stores like Safeway grocery store sells them. Safeway sells its regular 'Safeway only non-refundable card' and the "gift card mall card'. It is a special Safeway gift card that can be used at Safeway or can be used to buy any other gift card in the store's gift card mall. I Quote
