I loved NEM and had planned to use it. Now, they only sell 1 and 2 and I am unsure how that would translate to American Levels, as in, what would a child go to next if they did 1 and 2, is that Algebra and Geometry? Or just one of those? Anyway, I saw a Discovery Mathematics book the other day and thought it looked great. But I cannot seem to find it online. Plus, I would like all reviews and information about it. I already posted about this on the K-8 board.

We love DM. Sporadically you can find them in Amazon marketplace or Ebay. If you're really interested you can buy used copies from locals through Gumtree (Singapore's ebay) and have the seller ship via Singpost Ordinary Mail (airmail is super expensive, but also an option). I believe there is also an online bookstore in Singapore which will ship books abroad. I can guide you, if you need to.

Honestly, I'd probably look for something else because of the difficulty in getting copies.  The shipping from Singapore is shockingly expensive.  For years I used MPH from Singapore, but they were easy to get here.  Then I couldn't find them anymore.  For 4 very thin books the shipping was something like $100 (years ago) on SG Box.

I had one level of DM and while I liked the way it looked, it didn't have very good support materials so I didn't think it would be all that easy for me to use.  Plus if you get into it and midway you realize you can't get the next level you might have difficulty placing your student into another series because they wouldn't line up at all.

The new Dimensions Mathematics is a US Common Core adapted version of Discovering Mathematics. It is only 7th and 8th, but at least you know that on completion of those two years your child will have covered PreA/Alg 1/Geometry and be ready to enter the traditional sequence at Alg 2.

That's interesting!  I never knew that.
