Reading improvement

Does anyone have any resources to improve reading scores on ACT and PERT tests?  High school junior needs to improve quickly.

Take the 40L quick screen test and the MWIA version II. If there is more than a 10% slowdown of the MWIA, a lot of nonsense words and syllables will help. The reading speed will slow down for a bit as the brain switches over to good reading habits, then will improve and accuracy will improve. If below 12th grade level, use the resources in the link above.

 

If reading is at 12th grade level with no slowdown, you may need to work on vocabulary and comprehension of specific areas, especially if some of the essays in particular are outside of normal reading areas, I have suggestions for that, too, but check grade level and the MWIA first.
