homeschoolin'mygirls
Ok, in reality it's more for the mom that believes other child in family ( cousin) is favored one. Not true but that is what she believes... Would like something that would please her mom but not kill me in expense. Birthday girl is delightful active 2 yr old. Mom likes girly things for her. Likes to do little ones make up and nails for fun Any ideas appreciated

Plink
Topsy Turvy Dolls are adorable stuffed animals that easily flip into other characters from the same fairy tale. These, with a go-along book, are my go-to gift for little ones. Always well loved and only $20! Edited May 2, 2016 by Plink

redsquirrel
One of those hammering bench things that toddlers love so much. It's a nice wooden toy and won't cost that much. And it won't be in your house so you won't have to hear it, lol. That or a puzzle for 2 year olds.

MEmama
A balance bike? I love buying my niece Peppa Pig toys--they have awesome camper van sets, and a sweet treehouse, and an adorable house...I don't know why, but I just love them. :). She recently became a big sister so I got her a couple related Peppa books and a giant Peppa stuffie to snuggle with. I just think they are adorable for that age. :)

ILiveInFlipFlops
Tea set, Melissa and Doug has a lot of neat things for that age. Oh yes! Melissa and Doug cookie sets, cupcake sets, ice cream cone sets, etc. have all been huge hits at our house, and their play value lasted a long time. You can also buy play silks on Amazon now, and I searched for "toddler tutu" and saw some really cute things. And I always add a book or two to any little kid birthday gift :D *sigh* I miss those days. Never thought I'd say that!

umsami
A purse with plastic stuff in it. My DD got this around two, and we've given it many times and it's always been loved. http://www.amazon.com/Kidoozie-First-Purse-Educational-Preschoolers/dp/B00005TQI7/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1462326365&sr=8-4&keywords=little+girl+purse+set
