Slache
I want this: http://www.amazon.com/Brother-HL-3170CDW-Digital-Wireless-Networking/dp/B00BQU141C?ie=UTF8&colid=3BL0QU2B2EQM3&coliid=IZLPJ5718WWHW&psc=1&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl I was thinking black Friday. I'll take thoughts on when and where to buy, as well as if it's the right one because I have no idea what I'm doing. Thanks!
gardenmom5
is that the one that has no document feed? I was just buying a printer - there was a very highly rated brother, that didn't have a document feed. so, you had to sit there and feed it page by page. that was a deal killer.

There is a drawer at the bottom that takes both document and letter. I was going to recommend this to you I believe, but you wanted one around $100. To get this printer and starter ink is $250 at least.
Lanny
CamelCamelCamel.com They check, once or twice a day. Also, you give them your target price. There is a chance that the item you want to buy will NOT go on sale on Black Friday or some other day. I wanted/needed to buy a TI Graphing Calculator for DD last year, but on Amazon Prime Day, every time I checked, it was not on sale. A week or so later, they had a great price and I bought it from Amazon. READ THE REVIEWS, all of them, on Amazon, for anything you contemplate buying. Usually, if you look at the "most popular" or "best selling" you will be on the right track. That's how I found, for example, the TP-LINK WiFi Routers that we bought and I configured to be "WAPS" (Wireless Access Point). I think if I were buying the item you linked to, that I would want to purchase directly from Amazon, unless a reputable marketplace seller had it for much less money, including shipping. hjffkj
Check the site camelcamelcamel. It tracks Amazon's product price history and shows what it costs elsewhere
Alessandra
is that the one that has no document feed? I was just buying a printer - there was a very highly rated brother, that didn't have a document feed. so, you had to sit there and feed it page by page. that was a deal killer. Document feed (auto duplex) is a deal killer for me too. I never, ever want to feed documents page by page into a scanner or copier again. It depends on how much you are printing. If you print a lot, I would suggest laser. I got this printer on sale for $199 two months ago. It is the best printer I have ever owned, especially as far as price per page cost. http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Products-ImageCLASS-MF624Cw-Wireless/dp/B015IGWUW6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1461264818&sr=8-1&keywords=Canon+Office+Products+ImageCLASS+MF624Cw+Wireless+Color+Printer+with+Scanner+%26+Copier It does go on sale- Best Buy and Amazon had it for the same price, so if you are interested in a laser, but think they're too expensive, you could always put it in your cart and wait for the price to come down, which is what I did. For $199 this thing was a steal if you aren't in a hurry. I couldn't tell if the printer op was looking at was inkjet or laser, but I would guess inkjet by the price. My main advice would be to look very carefully at the cost per page by reading reviews in PC Magazine or another good source. I have three printers: Brother b&w duplex laser, low cost per page. I can print drafts with a clear conscience. Fast. Canon inkjet printer scanner copier with duplex print, duplex auto feed scan and copy. I use it for scanning and for pages with a bit of color. Printing is slow and expensive. Staples, lol, their printers that use commercial ink. I use these when I have something with a lot of color, like photos for a poster. Pages can be glued down and ink does not smear (unlike ink jet ink).

It's important to me to have a document feed, laser, and color. If I'm going to spend the money it may as well be color. bagel270
When the one you have breaks. That's when we get a new one. :glare:
Slache
When the one you have breaks. That's when we get a new one. :glare: If I printed as much as I wanted it would cost us $500-$1,000 a year in ink. This thing would pay for itself in no time. I was going to recommend this to you I believe, but you wanted one around $100. To get this printer and starter ink is $250 at least. it was a different brother printer. http://www.toptenreviews.com/computers/printers/best-all-in-one-printers/brother-business-smart-review/ was very highly rated -but didn't have an auto document feed - and that was a deal killer, or I could have gotten dh to spend more upfront. even though he'd not be thrilled. Catalytic
I have a B&W Brother laser I bought 5.5 years ago. (It's a multi-function) I paid $300 for it, it's saved me well over $3,000 in ink alone. It prints duplex, so now I print almost everything 2 sided. If you're using inkjet now, any laswer is going to pay for itself quickly.
