SKL Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) I was up well past 3am last night due to a work deadline. I still have a ton of things that were supposed to be done by now, but the official deadline work went out. :) I just wish I could take a nap! Update on my kids' school talent show. Miss E will be playing the piano. Miss A's gymnastics routine was not chosen. Her friend wasn't prepared enough, and that doesn't really surprise me, but I think Miss A did a good job of trying. As for the ensuing drama, apparently Miss A is not taking it out on Miss E, so that is wonderful. I hear she and her friend had words, but hopefully they will move on. Another classmate had a loud tantrum at school because her sister made it and she didn't. My kids got to see what sister drama looks like from the outside, and decided it wasn't pretty. Lucky me! :) I feel for the classmate's mom right now. :p OK, back to business. Kids up & out to school. [done] Pet care. [done] Some laundry. [done] Clean kitchen and bathrooms. [done] Work. [did some] Drive colleague to airport. [done] Sew/iron on my kids' scout badges. [nah] Kids' work. [done] Kids' scout crossover ceremony. [done] More kids' work or read-aloud. [done] Kids to bed. [done] Work. [after a nap] Edited April 22, 2016 by SKL 2 Quote
SKL Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Melissa, I'm glad your son is OK. Good luck getting the car sorted out. Darn kangaroos! We have suicidal deer all around here so I can relate. :( 1 Quote
SKL Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Phew! Got the person off to the airport. This person is great because she makes me feel like the most organized human alive. :P Not sure how I'll organize the rest of today though. Shower / hair wash, scout patches, other kid stuff, and about 30 financial reports due .... On the positive side, I will have some extra freedom for the next week, in terms of managing my own schedule. 2 Quote
Melissa in Australia Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Wow, Melissa! So glad he's ok! Around here it is deer we have to watch for. We have to watch out for deer as well. same son had to break suddenly just 2 weeks ago to avoid a deer and had to get all new tyers afterwards. He is working in a very remote area of the state in very heavy bush ( forest ) . the heaviest bush in the state in fact. Quote
SKL Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Well, I gave up on getting any more reports out during "working hours." I also gave up on ironing/sewing my kids' scout patches. I was too tired. I took a nap. When the kids came home I got up and did some more work, but then I had to get ready for the evening. The scout crossover was very nice. I mean, not fancy, but I liked the way they planned it with all the girls participating and stuff. I was kinda bummed that the only eats were cookies. I had misunderstood and thought there would be food, so I didn't let my kids eat beforehand. So we went to Boston Market afterward. Today the batons I ordered for the girls came in the mail. (They are not "real" batons, just those kiddy ones that all of us had as little girls.) They are a hit. Miss A watched a professional performance of a baton twirler / dancer / gymnast, and she is pumped. :) I foresee many hours of twirling outdoors this summer. The scout event got us all inspired to think about working on lots of badges at the new level. I paged through the handbook and there are so many way I could imagine using this for education and other worthwhile goals. But realistically, I don't know how much we'll have time for. The story of my life. Now I think I will go to bed and set the alarms to get up early-ish. I should start sending reports to my clients so they can review them before the weekend. 1 Quote
