EmmaNZ Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I don't want anything too trashy, but my brain needs a rest and I can't handle anything too involved or 'difficult'. I usually like historical fiction, but have enjoyed most genres in the past, with the except of crime novels - I don't like to be scared! Any ideas? Quote
Carol in Cal. Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Here is a book I love: "The Ladies' Auxiliary" It follows an Orthodox Jewish community in the South through a story that is enhanced by descriptions of Jewish holiday celebrations. The story itself has a lot of food for thought but it's not over the top. Very well written. Fiction. Definitely a notch above a summer read, but no horror and really a pleasure to read. Quote
Erica in OR Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Are you an Austen fan? I liked Longbourn by Jo Baker. Erica in OR Quote
Happy Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Released today.... Eligible It's a modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice. I'm a few chapters in and enjoying it. Some language, some 'modern' situations, but it's keeping my attention. Quote
