mom2bee
I have a series of workbook exercises that I have drawn/written out long hand with marker, ink and pencil. They are the first drafts and I'd like to create them using the computer but I can't tell what software to use. I have seen where people use PowerPoint or MS Publisher to create worksheets. I have neither of those available to me. Is there anything else? Using Word seems like it'd be a nightmare...is there another way?
EKS
Why would using Word be a nightmare? I make worksheets all the time in Word.
HomeAgain
Word is not a nightmare. It's actually just as easy as Publisher, though Publisher lets you have extra options. I've done it in both, and while I don't prefer to use Word, I appreciate some of its features in letting me manipulate things.
mom2bee
Why would using Word be a nightmare? I make worksheets all the time in Word. Oh, the worksheets that I'm creating are uhm...involved? I have a very particular look/feel that I'm going for and revising/editing them--the diagrams, graphics etc seems intimidating (Plus, I'm a little bit lazy) I want to be able to recreate 8-15 worksheets a day and not spend a ton of time finagling the settings....I hate aligning and aligning and realigning when I insert an object/resize a chart, wrap text. Hmm...maybe I just need to learn to fully utilize MS Word/Open Office Documents.... >_<
mom2bee
Does anyone know how to do the "dotted" edges on an object, like when you see the outline to cut around a shape?
FO4UR
Why not scan your handmade worksheets? I like handmade. Sometimes computerized is non-human and sterile. Especially when we are talking about children, I like handwritten and homemade. My kids have always prefered Miquon math lab sheets to everything else, no matter how pretty. Miquon is handwritten, hand-drawn. Scan and make into PDF.

For square texts: Choose "insert Text Box", Drawing Tools - >Shape Outline->Dashes. Same with any shape you create.
mom2bee
This is a pet project of mine. I've started and stalled out on it and the next step is going to require that I go ahead and digitize at least certain sets of the worksheets. Its always time that gets in my way, my desire to do it has never waned! I love working on it. I got to thinking that this might be a common question on this forum and did a search. Look what I found? This thread is 2 years old How Do You Make Workbook/Pages into PDFS and guess who started it! Man, time flies. Must...complete...curriculum...project! Why not scan your handmade worksheets? I've done that to sort of "tide me over" but it's time to move on. I like handmade. Sometimes computerized is non-human and sterile. Especially when we are talking about children, I like handwritten and homemade. there are some for younger kids that I intend to keep as "handdrawn" and others that need to be cleaned up. My kids have always prefered Miquon math lab sheets to everything else, no matter how pretty. Miquon is handwritten, hand-drawn. Scan and make into PDF. If worst comes to worst, I'll just redraw them and do that. But I'd like to get this project off of the ground!
