Tap
DD17 is on lesson 60 of Pre-calc. She is struggling, not with the content, but the time it is taking her to do it. It isn't uncommon for her to spend 1.75 to 2.5 hours per lesson right now, (including lecture). She has dyslexia and it takes her longer than the traditional student to do most things, but this is getting a bit overwhelming. They used to take her 1.25 to 1.5 on average. In the past 10-15 lessons this has greatly increased. I am curious how long your students take to do the lessons....and if they continue at this pace or get worse as they go along. Blossom'sGirl
My oldest is using it this year. This is his first experience with TT after using Foersters Algebra, LOF Geometry, and Lial's Algebra 2. That said, some of his lessons took a very long time. I asked my ds if they are all long (he is on lesson 79) and he agreed that those lessons in the 60's took awhile. Because TT Pre-Calc only has about 100 lessons, I allowed him to spread those longer ones over two days as he saw fit.

That gives us a bit of hope. She is in public school, but home schools math as a remote class with a home school umbrella. She started a little late, but wasn't worried because of the 100 lessons vs traditional 120+. She felt that she had the schedule worked out. She was getting a little behind on her anticipated completion date of Mid-May. Her plan was to work on spring break to complete 10 lessons and then a lesson every single day till mid-may, but just found out that due to the schools format, she actually has to be done May 1st. (It is a complicated explanation, but she has to do common core lessons and tests on top of TT to get credit and she needs at least a month to do that). Due to the date change, there is no way she is going to get it done if the lessons continue to take 2+ hours. Now she has to do 2 lessons every day. and I don't see how she can possibly continue that pace. She is in public school and has an hour+ of homework every night.
