Janie Grace Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 What could cause this? I'm two weeks from my LMP. I'm not pregnant. I do have a submucosal fibroid but I have never heard of that causing cramping/bloating while not menstruating. Thoughts? I'm really uncomfortable. Quote

EndOfOrdinary Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I get this when I eat dairy. Stupid tasty lactose! Quote
Katy Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I've had this happen when ovulating too. Usually followed by a day of diarrhea. 2 Quote
katilac Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Hmmm... it could be that but this is WAY more intense. I feel exactly like I feel when on my period. I have had this experience as I've gotten older, yay . . . last time I told dh that I wasn't sure if I was ovulating, or if there was a demon inside me trying to claw its way out. I've also thrown up from cramps 3 times in the last year, which I haven't done since I was in my teens. 1 Quote
Seasider Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 An ovarian cyst can make me feel that way. The cysts I've had have always resolved on their own. Sometimes they are painful and may require intervention. 1 Quote
gardenmom5 Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I had a virus that left me with abdominal cramps, backache, and lots of bloat. Quote
bodiesmom Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Oh my word my actual period has nothing on my ovulation. I ache, cramp, feel bloated, everything for a few days until my ovary decides to release the darn egg. 3 Quote
fraidycat Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I get this when I eat dairy. Stupid tasty lactose! Me too. And grain. And raw food. My digestive system is a mess. Lol 1 Quote

I ache, cramp, feel bloated, everything for a few days until my ovary decides to release the darn egg. Yep, my mid cycle is way worse than the actual period. Even the chocolate cravings! It didn't used to be like this, though. I hope that's all it is for you and nothing more serious. Quote
MaeFlowers Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Oh my word my actual period has nothing on my ovulation. I ache, cramp, feel bloated, everything for a few days until my ovary decides to release the darn egg. This is exactly me. Quote
gingersmom Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 (edited) I get the same symptoms and my doctor said its perimenopause. Edited April 8, 2016 by gingersmom 1 Quote
fairfarmhand Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Me personally, that is what happens when I've overindulged on crummy food. Not just stuff like chocolate. I'm talking processed crap. Quote

Katy Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 I've had this too.....not every month thankfully. No, not every month, but frequently enough when TTC & when I was tracking those things to notice a pattern. Maybe 4-5 times a year for me. Last time I was joking with DH that I had no idea why a cycle would be designed this way. It doesn't exactly put you in the mood & make you more likely to conceive. Sort of the opposite. Quote
BlsdMama Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Oddly, I don't ever remember noting mid month changes, cramps, etc., Until after I read Take Charge of Your Fertility AND want nursing. First I had to be made aware such a thing existed, then actually be fertile for more than a month, then know where I was in my cycle. William was only nursed for a very short time and he's almost two so I've had the chance to see this repeat several times now. It's pretty remarkable. My feeling like this lasts from a couple hours to, at most, a day. Then, sometimes, I do feel the sharp twinge women talk about, but, just as often, it just subsides. Usually it is semi localized to one side or the other slightly and that is the give away. ;) Quote
Suzanne in ABQ Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Unless you're positive that you haven't engaged in any activity that causes pregnancy in the last couple weeks, I wouldn't rule out an ectopic pregnancy. Ovarian cysts are another possibility. Quote

Yeah, same here. Happens frequently enough that I know its ovulation related. No, definitely doesn't put you in the mood. 😀 Quote
