school17777 Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 I do enjoy cooking, just not every day! No idea what to make for dinner. There is food to be cooked in the fridge and freezer, just no inspiration to do so. Quote
school17777 Posted April 5, 2016 Author Posted April 5, 2016 Stupid autocorrect changed my title! Should be eat and not Sat. Hate posting from my phone because it changes my words. Quote
SKL Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 LOL. I am not much of a meal planner. I play it by ear. They usually do want to eat, but sometimes they are happy to get their own dinner. :P Especially if I tell them I'm planning to cook something they're not fond of. Quote
school17777 Posted April 5, 2016 Author Posted April 5, 2016 Everyone will be home late tonight, and they will be hungry when they get home, so I do need to have something ready. I think I will heat up some pot suckers in the instant pot and call it done. I have veggies already cut up. I can cut up a pineapple too. Quote
Miss Tick Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Pot sucker = pot sticker I imagine. Stupid autocorrect! Maybe cook some rice, also? 1 Quote
Miss Tick Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 (edited) Here's a sauce you could pour over the rice and pot stickers and vegetables: 2 cloves garlic (I use jarred) 2 green onions (all I could find was a sprouting white onion that I minced) 5 T. Soy sauce 2 T. Sugar 2 T. Oil 1 T. Sesame oil Some pepper Edited April 5, 2016 by SusanC 3 Quote

marbel Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 My family always wants dinner. I like to cook, but I don't like thinking of what to cook. My husband is out for a dinner meeting tonight so I'm trying to talk the kids into making a dent in the giant bag of frozen ravioli I bought a few weeks ago. I would take them out to eat, but I just paid $425 for two epi-pens so am feeling pinched. Quote
trulycrabby Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 No, standardized testing should be done in the morning when the students are alert. :zombie: Here's my go to don't want to cook meal: 1 package chicken breasts or thighs 1 can Rotel tomatoes Fresh or frozen spinach any kind of cheese, but I like pepper jack Sometimes I add rice and call it a casserole Be generous with the cheese and the spinach. PrincessMommy Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 I'm not a great lover of cooking and I don't do a lot of pre-planning. Added to that, a lot of issues with insomnia and by 5pm I'm worn thin and my brain doesn't want to function. On nights that I really just don't want to cook I'll make eggs and toast for dinner. Chicken thighs are another easy meal maker. But, you have to have them on hand to make. Tonight I'm cooking from the freezer. My priest's wife has the best comeback to her kids: "What do you mean you want to eat, you just had dinner last night!" LOL Quote
