TwoEdgedSword
Do public schoolers need to register for the SAT online or is it done from the public high school's end?
PuddleJumper1
We have had to register online ourselves, for both SAT and ACT, whether in public school or homeschooling (we've tested in both situations). The only test I've been able to pay the school directly for is the PSAT. Edited April 5, 2016 by PuddleJumper1
Arcadia
My district's high school webpages direct students to register online at collegeboard with no other instructions. They also have to register online for ACT. Only AP exams registration is done by the high school counselors and AP coordinator. ETA: No idea about PSAT but I assume the guidance counsellor office handles it. Edited April 5, 2016 by Arcadia
Sebastian (a lady)
If the district has adopted the SAT as an annual assessment it may be doing an in school test date that would be during the school day. Students might be registered via the guidance office or might even be required to take the test. A similar option exists for ACT. For Saturday test dates registration should be online. Not every school will be a test site each test dates.
TwoEdgedSword
I think Sebastian that may be what is going on. The school has it on their calendar during the week, but when I looked at the collegeboard registration dates, it doesn't have that date as an option. The school has it on their calendar during the week, but when I looked at the collegeboard registration dates, it doesn't have that date as an option. This is what my ds is doing. They are running the SAT during a school day (April 12), and the high school did all of the registration for him - including paying. If I log in to his college board account, I can see the registration.
TwoEdgedSword
JeanM, Did your child get an admission ticket for this? We haven't received one (and collegeboard mentions this) and can't see his registration on the site. They may not have totally registered him. Now that you mention it, I should have him talk to guidance. I think we can print it from the college board site though, since it does show up there. I'd be a little concerned if it isn't showing up at your ds's college board site. Can he check with the school about the admission ticket?
TwoEdgedSword
Yes I'm going to find out today. I suppose if he misses this test bc the school didn't register him, he gets an extra couple of weeks to study and he'll have to take the test without the school in May. Also I need to come up with a photo ID. Edited April 6, 2016 by TwoEdgedSword
