I know the book, When Helping Hurts, is a major one the groups my guys are affiliated with use as really good guidelines. http://www.amazon.com/When-Helping-Hurts-Alleviate-Yourself/dp/0802409989 Short term missions is only a small part of the overall picture TBH. There are many, many ways folks with great intentions have done more harm than good in both the past and present.
