Sebastian (a lady) Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Without much fanfare, more information about the Coalition for Access and Affordability college application platform has shown up. Here is info for counselors. http://www.coalitionforcollegeaccess.org/resources.html This includes a lesson plan about the Virtual Locker (formerly known as the Portfolio). This has their Powerpoint slides and commentary for counselors to use to introduce the locker to students. I'm still on the fence about how this app will be utilized. Having said that, it might be a convenient place to store information. I spent about an hour last week trying to find NLE scores for the past three years. Having moved three times in the past few years doesn't help with keeping track of the minutia of academic achievement. I'm thinking that not only certificates, but a quick summary of volunteer activity, summer programs, and long written pieces done for various courses might fit well here. Quote
Sebastian (a lady) Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 Even though the mycoalition.org website is available, it doesn't seem like it is out of Beta testing yet. It let me try to create an account, but when I did the email verification and then tried to log in, I was denied. Since you can only have one account per email address, I would recommend holding off on trying to create an account until they officially announce they are live. Quote
